Carlson Software Inc. Introduces All-New Simplicity 'Sight' Survey 2009

Highly Anticipated New Simplicity Release

MAYSVILLE, Ky. – Marking the first new Simplicity release in seven years, the all new and extremely versatile Simplicity “Sight” Survey 2009 is now available from Carlson Software. “Sight” Survey 2009 provides simplified methods for solving commonly encountered coordinate geometry and construction surveying problems.

A Windows-based coordinate geometry program, “Sight” Survey 2009 works with AutoCAD® (version 2002 and newer), MicroStation® (v8, XM, or PowerDraft) and IntelliCAD®, which comes built-in. It is even capable of running without a CAD application, giving its users ultimate flexibility in a COGO program.

“ ‘Sight’ Survey incorporates the easy-to-use Simplicity COGO with contouring, volumes, and legal descriptions,” says Mark Floan, director of Carlson Software’s Simplicity Division. “The entire package is a well orchestrated harmony of the two different programs, COGO and CAD.

" ‘Sight’ Survey working with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and IntelliCAD offers an economical choice to surveyors needing to import field-to-finish and other survey data directly to the CAD application,” adds Floan. "It's perfect for DOTs or for firms working with DOTs."

The menus, prompts, and help screens in “Sight” Survey are all designed to allow users to run the routines contained in the package without needing to regularly check the manual. As each routine runs, all data inputs are requested by screen prompts. The program also checks the responses for obvious errors and subsequently refuses most improper entries.

“The routines actually guide you from beginning to end,” notes Floan. “And ‘Sight’ Survey can even present your work graphically in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or IntelliCAD while you calculate your data.”

“Sight” Survey also includes several power boosters direct from other Carlson Software products. These include: Carlson File Compatibility; Field-to-Finish to bring field data directly into CAD; Raw File Edit and Reprocess; Enhanced Data Collector Communications; and SurvNET, Carlson’s powerful Network Least Squares application.

“With this new release,” adds Floan, “users will get the ease of Simplicity combined with the power of Carlson Software.” Simplicity became a division of Carlson Software in 2002.
